The Bach Healing System

Dr Edward Bach (1886-1936) practiced as a Harley St doctor, bacteriologist, homeopath and researcher in London for 20 years. Disenchanted with this model, he left and for the next 6 years developed a system of healing that would acknowledge the whole person, not the isolated symptom.

From the observations of his patients he knew he needed to work with people’s personality and emotions as healing begins from within. Dr Bach's belief of the mind/body connection is now readily accepted.

These harmless gentle flowers, herbs and trees of the fields have the power to heal all mental and physical dis-ease. He created 38 flower remedies that covered all and every emotion and feeling, as well as the personality and temperament. He also created Rescue Remedy for accidents, shock, trauma. Nowadays it is also used alot for stress.

Here are 3 quotes from Dr Bach that show his philosophy of healing.

“In treating cases with these remedies no notice is taken of the nature of the disease. The individual is treated, and as he becomes well the disease goes, having been cast off by the increase of health.”

"So long as our Souls and personalities are in harmony all is joy and peace, happiness and health. It is when our personalities are lead astray from the path laid down by the Soul, either by our own worldly desires or by the persuasion of others, that a conflict arises. This conflict is the root cause of disease and unhappiness."
